The New Days...

Apparently, my mom just made the new DOOL blog. Here's the link.

Days of Our Lives 2

Mom is having trouble choosing the background template. :P I think she's using the old one, called Bueno. See for yoself.

N

Blogging

Well, apparently, my mom is gonna start a new Days of Our Lives blog because she has reached the limit of pictures or something and her brain is supposedly full and she says she's getting old, so she told US to make posts on her new DOOL blog. Oh my. She also hasn't put up posts since May, so it's been two months. Oh my. And me, I have three drafts of posts that are not published yet. So when they are, just scroll down the blog & you might see them.

+ I said 'Oh my' twice.

Making Yourself at Home

Tonight we're having iftar at someone's house. H is making brownies now. Smells great! (Like me.)

Well, as you know, yesterday was my last day of massage class. Whoopee!!! People kept calling me 'sweetie' and 'dearie' (like my grandma) and they kept saying, "Good job! For a little girl, that's a great job!" I'm not a little girl! So I was extremely offended and I was like 'hehe'. Then we had to leave at like 7:45 pm so we could go to the masjid to break fast. Before we left, we had to get out certificates. And guess what? We both got eight credit hours! Oh and BTW, 'we' refers to me and my dad.

I was like the first one there, well, not really, someone named D was there with her kid named Hl. Hl was drinking and D was getting the dates and drinks ready. Then D sent Hl to the men's side to do some errands, like getting soup and all. Then people came, and someone brought rice. She saw me and asked, "You're alone?"
And I said, "Yeah."
Then she said, "Where's S?"
I said, "She's gonna come later."
Well, at least she didn't ask for my mom. Grr, I hate when people ask for her even though I already tell them she is at home doing things!

Anyways. After the Maghrib prayer Abwadab took me home to finish up iftar and then S and mom got ready to go. Btw we ate our Mexicans and they are really good! No I'm not a cannibal dummy, I'm talking about the brownies! No I'm not racist either. Well maybe I am a little bit. :P

So while S was getting ready, H came in the room and I showed him my certificate. For some reason they were both really amazed that I got eight credit hours.

So we got Z ready to go n then we went to the masjid. We prayed Isha, then Terawih, then we got to stay a li'l longer because Abi asked me if I wanted to and I said yes. So S and I went outside with our friend Sandy (well that's not her real name but I wouldn't really tell it to you would I?) to the masjid's playground.

H and his friend M came and played while we talked, and then they left after women came out of the women's side to leave.

N

Welcome to...N's Narrations!

Well, I got an idea from looking at Hanis' blog. I liked her story of meeting Mr. Blogger, and it wasn't real, so I guess I will do that too. Allow me to introduce you to...
N's Narrations!
In N's Narrations, you will find stories about me and S and H, etc. They won't be very long.

I was gonna write an N's Narration right here, but I didn't have a story idea or plot, so you'll have to wait. Sawry. :P

N

Motabak

Today S and I are gonna make murtabak for the masjid's community iftar tonight. And maybe next week we'll do pizza...
H has to go shoppin' first.

Might

Isn't it weird how, whenever you say might, the person thinks it will happen?

Example:

Me: I might go to the masjid tonight.
Person: Okay.
(You don't go.)

Next day:
Person: Why weren't you at the masjid last night?
Me: I told you I might go. I didn't say I would go.

N's Knowledge: The Glass Frog!

Hello! Welcome to N's Knowledge! Today we are talking about the glass frog.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9rLVjs1AFEf2fRfQyWwOOXV8uuG261Fn4l2Fva9r1NVr-E-k-Ri45-w6Q5zZfTIMX5_3PSVVPWerWA64UV06eHj-AHyykK9kF-O5R8NadUTII6RDf-805w-Axi8YHjeEGDaleUxhJVWi7/s640/glass+frog+eye+closeup.jpg

I knew about the glass frog long time ago. I think it is really cool. It's this frog that has see-through skin and you can see the guts. It has green bones. Cool, huh?

http://cdn2.listsoplenty.com/listsoplenty-cdn/uploads/2010/06/glass-frog.jpghttp://images.mudfooted.com/glass-frogs-on-leaf.jpg

Even the eggs are see through!
I would put more facts, but not right now.

12:46 PM

Just finished icing the brownies. They look sooo good!

N

11:33 AM

Just finished making Mexican Brownies a while ago with S. They're in the oven now, and we're just waiting for them to be done so we can make the coffee frosting. Yum!

The last week of my massage class is today! Yay! I be free!

N's Knowledge: The American Shorthair Cat!

Hello and welcome back to N's Knowledge!

Today, we will talk about the American Shorthair cat, one of my faves.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Qogq3ys5M8M/S_qTbXuKEnI/AAAAAAAAFrk/wQdF2JH_qPE/cat9.JPG
Isn't it adawrable?!
Anyways. The facts.

The American Shorthair, ASH for short, is a domestic cat that was brought to North America by settlers so they could protect the cargo from rats and mice.
According to the Cat Fancier's Association (CFA), it was the 8th most popular breed of cat in the US during 2011.

This cat is known as a working cat and is more strong, muscley, and lean than its relation, the British Shorthair.
American shorthair and British Shorthair.

ASHs get overweight very easily.

These cats come in colors Red, Blue, White, Black, Cream, Silver, Golden, Brown, Cameo, Bluecream, and Tortoiseshell.

From what I know, ASHs make great pets. So if you're looking for a cat, get this one.

The Tomato Frog

I'm gonna start a new...something. Whatever it's called. The label for it is N's Knowledge. It's like N's News, except it will have posts about animal facts, plant facts, human body facts, and facts x 100! Facts is now officially not a word no more. Okay? Thanks you!

Welcome to N's Knowledge. This is her first post.

My fav frog! Well, maybe not, but I like it! I like tomatoes and frogs. No, I am not planning to eat it. You can if you want to. So there.

THIS is the Tomato Frog!

The tomato frog is a big, fat, red frog with gold eyes. It is not all red, it has some yellow and orange parts here'n'there. So yeah. Can you see the resemblance?
http://www.pet-frog.com/graphics/tomato-n-frog.jpg
This is a tomato compared to a baby tomato frog. Tomato frogs get their color as they grow older.

Pasta Comes in Many Different Shapes

Before our nap, H invented a new song. It's called, "Pasta Comes in Many Different Shapes". It goes like this -

♫♪ Pasta comes in many dif-rent shapes, shapes, shapes,
Macaroni,
Rotini,
Penne,
Linguini,
Angel Hair, and more more
more more morrrre... ♫♪

Wonder why it's about pasta of all things? Well, he was singing the Yankee Doodle song, and there's macaroni in there, so it continued on from there.
He says, "I mean, pasta comes in different shapes and all, but it's got the same flavor! It's so tupA'!"
And I'm like, "Well, actually, there's gluten-free pasta, and whole wheat pasta..."

N

Time...GRRRRRrrrrAAAGH!!!

My mom says I have to start doing math now because she sees I have a lot of free time. Why do I have to do things? This is Ramadan! A time of weakness, when you use all your muscles to get up the stairs. GRR! I hate school! I want to kill the dummy who invented it in the first place! }:(

N

H's New Blog!

H apparently is being weird today, and now he wants to copy my blog. Here it is, if you dare to view it...

The Extremely Amazing Brain of H

And H wants S to make one too, called The Extremely Amazing Brain of S (or J). I would really like it if she made it. :) We would be the Extremely Amazing Brain team!

Oh, and sorry, blog viewers, if you couldn't get to my blog. Due to constant brother questions, I had to change the URL of my blog from TEABON to AMAZINGBRAINN. But that's okay. I didn't like teabon that much anyway.

N

Yay! Massaging is Ovah!

Well not yet, but it will be this Friday! I'm so happ-filled! I hate that class! I was forced to take it!

Ahem.

The 'it' is this tupA', girly, dumb massaging class that I was forced to take. The last week of it is this Friday! And I am as happy as a poor, homeless person getting a big dish of enchiladas!!! Woohoo!!!

These are enchiladas! They are so yummy!
Sorry. I'm a big fan of cheese.

Another Poem

Well, that last poem I made was fun to write, so I guess I'll make another one.
Right now we're making roti canai, following the recipe from my grandma's blog, Cherry on a Cake.
So let's see...what should this poem be about? Hmm...
Aha! I know!
Roti Canai! Genius, right?

©Roti Canai

Roll a ball
Of dough
Throw it
Into the oily bowl

Cling film on top of the bowl
And wait
Now it's ready!
All you have to do is fry it and
Inhale that yummy smell of roti canai!

Ramadan Day 5

Yesterday was our last day of studying the culture and history of Islam in Indonesia, and we finished the PowerPoint presentation. It's actually really lame. I have just gotta tell you. I think today we have to start doing the country of Afghanistan. Oh my.
Oh! You wanna know something funny?
If we can't make a food that we find from research of any country, we have to make it out of clay! I mean, seriously! xD Indonesia was easy, but this...?

I hope we're going out today. I need my rocks.

Today H and I are gonna make roti canai. It's real good. For those who don't know Malay, search this up.

Winnings

Yesterday they announced the winners for the questions they gave out Saturday night. And guess what? S won! She got 20 bucks! Everybody got such good answers that they had to do a draw.

And also, S and I are supposed to get our article in the paper soon...

N

Must...Go...To...Petco...

We need to go to Petco sometime soon. Sunset's tank looks so boring without a plant and rocks, and I don't think he likes it either. Also, we need new water purifier. The old one that H gave us expired. Yuck.
Yes. Must...Go...

El Caldito

What up, peeps, man?

Today I went to the soup kitchen. I noticed that whenever I go there I'm always wearing purple...is there a reason for that? There is a reason for everything, after all...

Anyway, after I woke up at maybe 10 AM, S' phone rang. It was someone from the masjid. She asked, "Are you guys coming to the soup kitchen?" S was like, "Umm..." And then the person said, "I guess you guys forgot, huh?" and then S said, "Heheh...yeah," and gave the phone to Mom. Then we all got ready to go to the soup kitchen.

We got there and put on our aprons and gloves. H had a put on a hairnet, lol. He didn't look as dumb as he did when his hair was longer. xD Anyway, we got assigned some jawbs*. S and Mom had to do the lunch trays, and I had to to the cake. It was ever so boring, and my feet hurt. Then I helped to the trays, and then we all had to dry dishes. Eeekh, hate that job. That's practically the only thing I remember doing. My hands hurt from doing it. I finally quit and joined S who was resting at a table. I did some reflexology on my hands whatever I learned from the reflexology class. And that was after the people came to get their lunch. One woman in the line said, "You and that other girl are really pretty." She was referring to me and S. :D (I mean, S, what a joke! A huge joke!)

My feet hurt real bad. After it was all over, we went to the masjid for Dhuhr. Then we went home and napped like smelly babies.

N

Bahulu :D

While I was at my class on Friday, H's friend gave his 'bahulu' to a man at the masjid. H's friend (aka Kylie) said, "Here, take this."The man was like, "Ooh, a Madeleine!" then he ate it, and his face distorted. He was like, "Ooh!" xD Lol.

Ramadan Night #1

FRIDAY, JULY 20, 2012

Well, when I woke up from my nap at about 5:00 pm, I was completely covered in sweat. My hairclips were hanging from hair strands around my ears, and my necklace was messed up. S woke me up by poking my shoulder. I got up, put on my glasses, and fixed my hair and necklace. Then I followed S to H's room so we could wake him up.

Now this was a challenge. S poked H's shoulder a few times, and his body just wobbled. S tried and tried to wake H up, and took off his blanket. H just pulled it back up. S gave up and decided to just wake up H's friend, who was in the living room on the couch. S poked his shoulder, and he woke up easily. Then we all went to H's room to wake him up again. S got a belt from the ground and lightly whipped H's brown blankie. It still did not work, but H was awake and angry. H's friend came into the room and laughed when we whipped H. We finally got H's blanket off, but that made H angrier. He sprang out of bed and chased S out. I ran out too, for safety.

"Let's get outta here!" I told H's friend, but he wouldn't. He stayed in there and gave H a little push. H exploded and punched him. We eventually prayed without H, and then I started to get ready for my massage class. After the class was over, we went to the masjid for Iftar.

Bahulu

Today S and I (kind of) made bahulu, a Malaysian dessert. We made it for our Ramadan project. Our project was about how Islam spread in other countries. So, we were doing the country of Indonesia first, and since we ate bahulu when we were in Malaysia, and it was YAMMY*, we wanted to make it! Though it wasn't very Indonny, but who cares. We made them, but we didn't have the molds, so we used Madeleine molds. It worked very well. Though, we couldn't take pictures because the camera was in the van and our dad took the van to his work. So, what a blow.

A few hours later, H's friend came with his mom to take H to Jooma*.

Oh, dang it. I have my massage class today.

Oh, and here's the website for the bahulu recipe. Bahulu - MySimpleFood

Ramadan Day #1

Hold on. This is yesterday's post. Read it before today's.

THURSDAY, JULY 19, 2012
Today was a big day. I had to go to the masjid for a Girls' Club meeting. We were gonna talk about preparing for Ramadan, our Ramadan goals and our duas. The girls were all bored to death, which was annoying. We all had to say what we liked about Ramadan, and they all mostly said, "because of the food." Seriously! The fatties these days! At least there was one girl who said she likes Ramadan because her mom doesn't force her to eat. But that's still bad. The point of Ramadan is not just about eating, as you know. Anyway, then we wrote down our goals and dua on paper (well what else would we write on?) using Sharpie markers. Then we played with H's hefty friend named Kylie in the men's side. It was fun! Nobody was there, practically. So then we went home and ate dinner, and then we went to 'The Hill' for moon sighting. So we found out that Ramadan was going to be on Friday. Tomorrow. Then we prayed Tarawih and Witr at the Masjid, and then S and I went to the masjid's library to practice Surah Al-Mulk for the Ramadan Quran competition. The End.

N
_______________________________________________________________

And now, here is today's post.

FRIDAY, JULY 20, 2012
Today, after Fajr, we listened to H read Surah Al-Kahf. His reading was SO horrible, I slept through it!!! Just kidding. He just read it, and I nodded my head. I hate that. Anyway, then we listened to a lecture about Surah Al-Kahf. Then we discussed our Quran schedule. I was going to read two pages of Quran a day after every prayer, starting from Al-Fatihah. So I went downstairs with my bazaar bought Quran, and read the first two pages. Then I had to go find the translation for the two pages that I read. This is what I got.

Surah Al-Fatihah translation. From this website. Dar-us-Salam.

1. Surah Al-Fatihah

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

1. In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

2. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

3. The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

4. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

5. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

6. Guide us to the Straight Way

7. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

And for Surah Al-Baqarah. First five ayahs.

Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

1. Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

2. This is the Book (the Qur'an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)].

3. Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat , spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.].

4. And who believe in (the Qur'an and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be upon him ) and in [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.).

5. They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.

No Such Luck

Today S and I got picked up to go to the Farmers' Market. We were gonna sell bracelets and bandannas. So we did. It was for the Humane Society. The girls from the Boys and Girls Club came. People passed by our booth and the girls said, "Hello we're sponsors for the Boys and Girls club and the Humane society." And they we're like, "Oh." Then they walked away rudely. We didn't make very good business, but in the end we made $23. And the week before when they sold, they made $49, so in all that's $82. I bought a snow cone for myself and S. Rainbow flavored. Then when we were packing up to go, i got to take a bandanna for myself and S took one too. Then we went home and played with H's tupA' friend. They're out swimming right now.

Partayy!

Today I went to my sort-of-friend's house for a party because someone is leaving for Singapore. S and I went there early to set up. Then people started coming. We ate, then Ummi and S left because H and I wanted to stay. So we stayed, and then we played.

Pre-Ramadan

Practice fast today. H was moaning and groaning.
"Whassa time?"
"When's Maghrib?"
"I'm so HUNGRY!"
"Who wants to be killed?"
That's how weak he is.
Then, guess what, at Iftar time, he ate almost all the salad while we were getting ready for Maghrib. Then he heaved his fat self up the stairs. He was a zombeh! I peered at him in the darkness. "Wow, he looks fatter than usual!" I said. "...Mmmmhhh..." said H. He heaved his brown arm to the top of the stairs. S pulled him up. Then, after Maghrib, he was still weak, and so S dragged him down the stairs. *LOL* Then he ate, and then he asked to eat more. I mean, seriously? But he had to go to the masjid for Isha, so haha.

N

No More Countdown

Yup. There's no more countdown as I don't really know exactly when Ramadan is. My mom says it's either Friday or Saturday. But I want the exact date.

Fun Things

I get to make fruit salad and smoothies in Ramadan for Iftar! Yay! I'm also gonna ask if I can set the table too.
H recently made me a blowdart.
I was planning to make my fish fast for the whole Ramadan, as they can survive a whole month without food, but S said that's not recommended. *facepalm*

Oh no!

My mom said that Ramadan will be on either Friday or Saturday, which means that Eid will either be on Sunday or Monday! Oh no! Usually my calendar is always right...so let's hope it is. :( I really want Eid to be on Saturday. :( My calendar will be right, iA.

Sweat and Knots

Last night the security alarm went off. It was crazy. And all because H didn't close the door right when he was getting ice cream.
I was just trying to sleep when suddenly the alarm started to beep faster and faster and then suddenly - BLAR BLAR BLAR BLAR BLAR!!! My dad was like "Aaargh!" Then he thundered down. I was still in the bed, my hands sweating and my tummy knotted. Then my mom found out the door that led to the garage was not closed good. Then everything happened and they went back upstairs. But they left the mudroom light on. *facepalm*

Countdown #12

Four, 4, 2 x 2, 20 divided by 5, 16 divided by 4, four more days!

Yesterday, S cooked a pea and tried to feed it to Iceblaze. He didn't eat it much, and the rest of the pea that was left, I got to eat it. Yum!

Today I was the rollerblading ballgirl again. It wasn't as amazing as last time though. Because S was following me.

After that...we went to Walgreens and Albertsons.

Then...I don't know.

Countdown #11

5 more days! Five more days!

Yesterday, two girls came to our house to play. Last night, we went to the masjid. It was full, man! Well, not really full, but full-ish. There was a talk. Then there were refreshments - cake and fruit. I had one slice of cake and two bowls of fruit. The fruit was just watermelon and grapes.

Countdown #10 and Some Goals

6 more days! O_O

Okay. I have some goals for Ramadan.
  • Exercise every day (ex. push-ups).
  • Drink lots of milk at suhoor and iftar (I'm trying to get taller).
  • Try not to play any computer games for the whole month.
  • Try to listen to Mom and Dad and S.
  • Try not to explode at H *if* he's annoying. (That's guaranteed.)
  • Pray the whole Tarawih every night. (I usually always do, but sometimes I just rest.)
  • Try to say Insha'Allah more. Things can happen if I don't. Seriously. :-|

And that's all for now...

BREAKING NEWS: Sharkbait Has Been Renamed!

From Reporter John Smith:
S has gotten many low ratings of her fish's name, so she decided to change it. We have interviewed S' sister and this is what she says:

Due to many low ratings of Sharkbait's name, S became offended and decided to change the fish's name. She took many years trying to find a better name. She wanted the name Ceto, but then found out it meant Sea Goddess. OMG!! So she settled on Iceblaze, after looking at a Warrior name generator.

And that's all N says about Sharkbait's name changing.Thank you for reading, and until then, please stay tuned. Thank you.

Sunset and Sharkbait!

Hi! Just uploaded pictures and videos of Sunset and Sharkbait.

This is my desk! I'm a terrible photographer. That camera with the red thingy is mine, but S burnt it when she brought it to camp. *SOB* So now, you can't see the screen. You can take pictures and eveything but you just can't see the screen. Blame it on the so hot weather here! And S leaving it so carelessly on her lap..

You can see my silhouette in the reflection of the tank. Sort of.

S put this note on Sharkbait's bowl because he has to fast for three days. And we still have to get the peas.

That's all for now. The video is not working. *SOB*
