Eid Al-Adha

On Eid Al-Adha this year, we went to the masjid to pray. Then we ate. I ate a donut. After that we went home and changed our clothes so we could go to the farm. At the farm, we slaughtered four sheep and a ram. There was a nice cat there, a white cat with a ginger muzzle and tail. I think it was partly Siamese. There was a Siamese kitten there, and I think it was the cat's kitten. Anyway, after that we went to visit people. We went to a Singaporian's house. A boy there scared my little brother with a Halloween mask.

It's Eid-al Adha! Assalamu Alaikum!

Seerah

Ali ibn Abu Talib is Rasulullah's cousin.
Hereafter is better for you than this life and Allah will give you what you satisfy.
Indeed you are to die, indeed they are to die, and on that day you will be resurrected in front of your Lord.

Muhammad is not but a messenger.
Whoever desires whatever in this world, We will give him thereof, whoever desires the Aakhirah, We will give him thereof.

On the 11th year of hijrah, Muhammad was commanded to forgive all the people in the cemetery and he brought his servant with him. muhammad congratulated the people of the cemetery. congrats that you passed away in the day before evil. congrats that you passed away in the good old days.

muhammad had a severe headache. somebody said my head hurts. muhammad said no i should say my head hurts.Muhammad was carried to the masjid with his head wrapped. He gave a nasihah. Muhammad is worried about his ummah.

We owe Muhammad SAW a lot. Prophets are given the choice whether they want to die or not. Every door in the masjid should be shut except that of Abu bakr's.

Abu bakr is Muhammad's special friend and brother. Muhammad spent the rest of his life in the house of Aisha and he died in the house of aisha. Aisha softened Muhammad's siwak and Muhammad brushed his teeth.

Muhammad made dua for Osama bin zaid. Osama said, "I understood that he was making dua for me."
Muhammad saw the people praying in jama'ah and he smiled. Abbas said, "I recognized death in Muhammad's face, and I think he is going to die pretty soon."

There is agony in death. Balghafiqal a'laa. The highest companion. The angel of death asked Muhammad who he wanted to be with and Muhammad said the highest companion. which means Allah. Muhammad turned his face towards aisha and she screamed. Then Muhammad died. Abu Bakr went to Aisha's house and saw Muhammad covered with a blanket. he took of the blanket and cried and kissed Muhammad said, "You are pure when you die and pure when you are alive." Umar bin al khattab could not bear the news that muhamnmad was dead. Abbas bin abdulk mutalib saalih (muhammad's servant), usama and other people washed muhammad's body. the next day after mmuhammads death bilal was making the athan for fajr. When he got to the part, "Ash hadu anna Muhammad ar Rasulullah," he couldn't go on and he cried. Muhammad died at 63, and Abu Bakr died at 63 and Umar died at 63.

Your daily habits of sleeping or other might be good deeds only if you are doing them for Allah. Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “The people closest to me are the people of Taqwa, no matter how far away they are, what race they are, what background they come from.”

Abdullah bin Ubayy was on his deathbed, and Rasulullah SAW visited him. No salah should be offered on the Munafiqeen. Abdullah bin Ubayy died before Muhammad SAW. Muhammad didn't want to offer Hajj while evil was happening. Muhammad received at-Taubah. Allah loves the righteous who fear him. Surah Al-Kauthar: "When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, people will enter Islam as a result."
The ninth year of hijrah is the Year of the Conquest.
Abu Bakr suggested to Umar bin al-Khattab that Qa'qa' bin Ma'maal be leader. Believing in Allah means to believe in Allah only and no other god.
Somebody said to Rasulullah SAW,"There was no other religion that was more despised to me than your religion, and now your religion to to me is the most beloved religion. And your land used to be the most despised land to me but now it is the most beloved land to me. "

Hiking

On Sunday I went hiking up a mountain. It was a Girls' Club event, and there were six girls (including me and Skina) and two adults. We went into a hermit's cave, which was nice and cool compared to the outside weather. At one moment all the girls decided to hide from the adults, so we hid in a nice chair-like part of the mountain. I ate a granola bar. Climbing down the mountain was pretty steep, and one time I fell. I was holding a thin tree branch, and you can guess it broke. I fell and smashed my face into some rocks and plant junk. (Don't worry, I'm okay!) My left leg hurt slightly for a while. When we finally got to the bottom, at the parking lot, we ate. I ate two cheese sandwiches, pineapple chunks, a banana, and something else that was really good, I can't remember what. Then we went to a girl's house to see her new baby sister. We ate pizza. We played soccer, and twice the ball got kicked over into the neighbor's yard.

Ka'ab ibn Malik would go into the market and people would ignore him. When Ka'ab prayed, Rasulullah SAW would look at him and when Ka'ab looked at Rasulullah SAW, Rasulullah SAW would look away. When Rasulullah SAW was happy, his face would beam like the moon. Sometime in your life, doors will open for you to do good.

Abu Dharr was a very strict man. He was a companion of Rasulullah SAW. Abu Dharr died alone.
Abdur-rahman bin Auf was leading a prayer, and Rasulullah SAW came while they were still praying. Abdur-rahman wanted to leave the prayer so Muhammad SAW could be the Imam, but Muhammad SAW prayed behind Abdur-Rahman. Abdur-Rahman bin Auf was the only Sahabi that Muhammad prayed behind. This was very good for Abdur-Rahman.
"Tala-al Badru Alayna, Minthani Yaa til Waa daa', Waja baash shukru Alayna, Mada Aa Lillaahi na."

Seerah - Battle of Tabuk

No Mushrik is allowed at Masjid ul-Haram (Makkah). If you have trust in Allah, He will protect you. If you have taqwa and believe in Allah, He will provide you with rizq that you never expected. Fight those who don't believe in Allah and the Last Day. The battle of Tabuk was the last battle that Rasulullah SAW fought before he died.

The Muslims saw a tree that the Mushriks hung their swords on. The Mushriks thought doing that would give them blessings. The Muslims asked Rasulullah SAW if they could have a tree like that too.
Allah promises us ease after difficulty.
Angels are soldiers of Allah.
May Allah put peace and tranquility on Rasulullah SAW and his followers.

Albuquerque and Balloon Fiesta

Yesterday, which was my birthday, I came back from Albuquerque. The yearly Balloon Fiesta was yesterday! We watched hot air balloons fly in the air. There was bad traffic while we were trying to get there. We had to pray Fajr in the van. We ate cheese bread sticks. At 6am about, we saw the balloons released already. We counted eleven. The weather was awfully cold. When we finally got to the parking space, we opened the van door, and cold air blew in. My feet felt dead. Especially since I wasn't wearing socks. Anyhow, we watched balloons blow up and get in the air. Some balloons looked like bees. There was a clown balloon and a haunted house balloon that couldn't get up, and they fell down. After that we went to the fair and played some games. H and I threw darts at balloons, but we only popped one. H and Z got dog toys. No, not dog toys, dog soft toys. Well, it was kind of a mix-up between a kangaroo and a dog, because it had a short tail and big ears. So it was probably a Chihuahua. We went to the Balloon Museum and explored the boringness of air and flight and whatsoever. Then, when we were about to leave, we decided to go to the gift shop. Our dad gave us twenty dollars each. I bought a pendant.
After that we went to the masjid and Yasmine's Cafe.
Then we went to the Talin Chinese store and got JELLY!!!

Picnic!

On Saturday the masjid held a picnic at the park. There was a jumping balloon. One looked like a dog and one looked like Spongebob. There was chicken, salad, donuts, cupcakes, and lots of other yum-headed things. I rollerbladed with Skina and our friends. There was ice cream. I had an ice cream sandwich and a popsicle. I was quite sweaty. But it was fun and we left at about 5 o clock.

Abdullah bin Masud’s legs were skinny. The sahaba laughed at them. Muhammad said, “Why are you laughing at his legs? They are going to be very heavy on the scale on the Day of Judgement.” I don’t see what’s so funny about skinny legs. It’s better than having big fat legs.
Abu Sufyan was going to become a Muslim. He said, “Ash hadu an La ilaha illa Allah.” Muhammad said, “Say that I am the Messenger of Allah.” Abu Sufyan said, “There is something in my heart that is stopping me to do so.” Someone said, “Abu Sufyan, say it before you get persecuted.” So Abu Sufyan said it.

Abu Sufyan went to the house of his daughter Umm Habibah. Abu Sufyan saw a rug on the floor and was going to sit on it, but Umm Habibah pulled it away and rolled it up. Abu Sufyan said, "I don't know if that rug is not fit for me, or if I'm not fit for that rug." She said, "This rug belongs to Rasulullah SAW and you are a dirty mushrik!"

Blackouts and BM's

Last night there was a rainstorm, a bad one, so bad it gave us a blackout. Before the blackout though, we were eating dinner. Thunder rolled...and then at a point when we were eating calmly, CREACKKK!!! The lightning and thunder cracked so loud that Skina's eyes widened, and H put his head down but looked up. I made a face at them that said, Are you scared? Very funny.

And today my brother Z pooped in his underwear, a very stinky moment.

Today H made donuts and my mom made cream puffs! Yumm!

Friday and Saturday Plans

This Friday we're going to the masjid for a bake sale provided by a Muslim Girls' Club. (For more info about the club, please go to muslimaatrus.blogspot.com.) H is selling at the men's side, and Skina, I, and some other people are selling at the womens' side. The proceeds go to Muslims Without Borders or Islamic Relief.
My mom's friend is going to have a baby, so we're planning a baby surprise for her. We're making...a DIAPER cake. *Gag* Some girls are coming to our house to make it. But at the masjid there's also a picnic...sadly I can't go because of the girly diaper cake.
So today my mom is making pandan chiffon cake. I think she's making a red one too, with sirap. And on Monday and Tuesday, she made Chocolate Lemon Biscotti. H is making donuts and malawah.
Skina made a banner for the men's table, I made one for the women's.

Muhammad's Life - Islam of Khalid and Amr

Amr bin Al Aas said, "If all my people became Muslim, I wouldn't."
Amr bin Al Aas asked King An-Najashi if he could kill Muhammad. King An-Najashi smacked Amr so hard he thought his nose was broken and his nose started to bleed. He covered it up with his clothes. An Najashi said, "Do you ask me to kill Muhammad?!" Amr had a sudden change of feeling.

Amr bin Aas asked for new clothes because his clothes were covered in blood. So he got new clothes and wore them. When his companions saw him, they were happy. Amr bin Al Aas went to Madinah so he could become Muslim. On the way he met Khalid bin Waleed and Uthman bin Talhah.

He asked them, "What are you doing here?"
They said,"We're going to Madinah to meet Muhammad so we can be Muslim!"
Amr said, "That is the same reason that brought me."

Muhammad was eagerly waiting for the three men to come to him even though they had done very bad to him. But Muhammad was so happy that they wanted to be Muslim.

One time Khalid saw Muhammad and the other Muslims praying Asr. Khalid planned to kill Muhammad, but he just couldn't. He hesitated. Then he knew that Muhammad was being protected. Allah saved Khalid and wanted good for him.

When Khalid was going to Muhammad to be Muslim, he asked Safwan if he wanted to be Muslim too, but Safwan said, 'no'. He asked Ikrimah, and he said, 'no'. Khalid dressed up nicely to meet Muhammad.

"I always knew you were intelligent, and I always hoped that your intelligence would bring you to Islam." - Muhammad to Khalid.

Muhammad's Life Continued

In the old times, whenever a limb is cut open somehow and the blood flows out, you have to put something hot and burning on the limb, not water. I don’t know why, but that’s how it works.
Some people killed Muhammad’s shepherd and stole his camels. Muhammad made dua against them. Their punishment? Their eyes were branded with hot metal nails. This is because they branded the eyes of Muhammad’s shepherd.

Ali ibn Abi Talib’s eyes had a disease. Some people brought him to Muhammad. He put some of his saliva into Ali’s eyes and they were cured. Miracle.
The ostrich is a super fast bird. 65km per hour.
Muhammad put a young girl on top of the luggage of his camel and he started riding. When he got to his destination, the girl and Muhammad got off. The girl saw blood on the luggage. She sat next to the camel, embarrassed. It was her first period. Muhammad came and asked her, “What’s wrong? Did you have your period?” She said, “Yes.” He said, “Wipe it with water and salt, then take a bath.” She did, then Muhammad called her name and put a necklace around her neck. She said, “I’ll never take it off.” So when she died, she was buried with it.

Gattitown

Today I went to Gattitown, the arcade I told you about in the previous post! I rode the Go-Karts which were extremely fun except I crashed into some daft people. My dad rode with my little bro and he won! I say again, those Go-Karts were so fun but NOT the bomb!!

I also played this bowling game called Ice Ball. While I was playing it though this old man that looked like a hobo talked to me in a weird language. It was also very loud in there so I couldn't hear him. (Gladly.) I saw him later in the praying room. I was like, "What? He's Muslim?"

Then I played a game that gives you tickets and I hit the jackpot!! I got 100 tickets. I played basketball, and a game in the kids' place where a frog has to knock down bugs with its tongue. It was so easy and I got lots of tickets.

We ate lunch. I ate pizza, mac and cheese, two brownies, and a cinnamon bun. Drinks, pink lemonade and, um, fruit punch.

There was the athan going on too. Awesome, you know. It's unusual. So we prayed Dhuhr and then we had to hurry up and play games because our cards expired at 2:00. So yeah.

We fed our tickets to the machine which got jammed pretty much a lot. So a fixing man had to fix it. (Obviously!) Then we counted our tickets on the printed receipt so we could get prizes.

I got a pencil, an airplane, a glow-in-the-dark slinky, a squishy, spiky pink ball, a paddle game, and shades. I can't wear them though because they get in the way of my glasses. There was also a furry lamp that I really wanted but we didn't have enough tickets.

We ate and drank again and left.

Unfortunately, I found some forgotten tickets in my pocket when we got home.

My brother really needs to be potty trained. Yesterday he pooped in his undies and tinkled in the kitchen! Very chaotic.
Tomorrow I am going to a very fun playing place for Eid. I mean, I know it's already past Eid, but you probably get the idea.

Muhammad (SAW)'s Life Continued (Madinah)

Al-Qaswa is Muhammad's famous camel.
In Hudaybiyyah there was a well that had no water. The sahaba told Muhammad. Muhammad took an arrow from his quiver and told them to put it in the well. They threw it in the well and water started flowing out of the well.
Banu Umayyah are close relatives to Banu Hashim.
Muhammad is the best worshipper of all.

Day 29 - Eid is Tomorrow!

Sabr means patience. Isbiru is a command. It means 'be patient'.
Water could be a soldier of Allah. It drowned Fir'awn. A mosquito is a soldier of Allah because it killed King Nimrod. The Earth swallowed Qarun and his stuff.
Al-Aws killed Ka'ab ibn Ashraf. Al-Aws is a tribe, not a person.
Al-Aws and Khazraj would compete against each other.
If you're poor, you have an excuse to not pay Zakah. In the battlefield, you pray. If you're sick, meaning really ill, you don't have to fast. 'Abdullah bin 'Unays prayed when he had to meet Khalid bin Sufyan.
Zainab bint Jahsh is the sister of 'Abdullah bin Jahsh.
We are slaves of Allah, we are followers of Muhammad, and we do whatever we are told to do.
Muhammad said, "When I die the fastest of my wives to die after me has the longest arm." So the wives of Muhammad would measure their arms. Muhammad meant the one who gave the most Zakah, and that was Zainab bint Jahsh.

Day 28

Banu Quraydhah was the last Jewish tribe in Madinah.
Ka'ab ibn Asad was the head of Banu Quraydhah.
Jibreel told Muhammad to go to Banu Quraydhah. He did. Muhammad told the sahaba to not pray asr until they got to Banu Quraydhah. It got sunsettish, so the sahaba stopped and argued.

One said, "We should pray when we get there, what Muhammad meant was for us to hurry up!" Another said, "We have to pray now!"

So some prayed and some prayed at Banu Quraydhah.

Abu Lubaabah got to Masjid Nabawi and tied himself to a pillar. He stayed tied up for six days.

He said, "I'm waiting for Allah to accept my repentance."
His wife would untie him every time he wanted to pray and when he was done she tied him up again. He wouldn't let anyone untie him except his wife. In the end though, Muhammad untied him.

Sa'ad bin Mu'adh was a special sahabi. All the sahabi participated in his funeral. The throne of Allah shook because of Sa'ad ibn Mu'adh. The angels were carrying the throne and they were shocked that Sa'ad died. Muhammad never forgot Sa'ad. Muhammad got some fabrics and the sahabi liked to touch them. Muhammad said the handkerchief of Sa'ad ibn Mu'adh was softer in Jannah.
Muhammad was standing at Sa'ad's grave. Then he said Subhanallah three times. Then he said Allahu Akbar three times. Sa'ad died at 37 years.

Day 27

Jabir saw Muhammad in a bad condition, so he asked his wife if she had any food and she said,

"We just have some barley and a goat."

Jabir slaughtered the goat and his wife made bread and cooked the meat. When the food was done Jabir went to Muhammad and said,

"Messenger of Allah, I have some food for you at my house."

Muhammad asked, "How much do you have?"

Jabir said, "A little bit."

Muhammad got up and invited the whole camp to Jabir's house. Jabir was surprised because he didn't even have enough food for everybody. He ran home and told his wife that Muhammad invited the whole camp. She said,

"Did he ask how much we have?"

Jabir said yes. She said,

"Allah and his messenger know best."

So everybody came to Jabir's house and 800 people ate. When they were done eating Muhammad checked the pot of meat and saw it was still full and the bread was still baking. Muhammad told Jabir's wife to give it to her neighbors. This was a miracle of Muhammad. Yum.

Day 26

Muhammad's camel was slow and weak, so he asked Jabir for his stick. Muhammad prodded the camel with the stick. "Mount it," he told Jabir. Muhammad's camel was fast now.
It's not appropriate to surprise people because then they have to get their house ready and they can dust off their cushions.
Umar had a servant. The servant had to get water from a well. There were too much people there so they fought. Muhammad stopped them.
Muslims should not fight or be rude to each other. Especially boys with their older sisters and their moms. Especially.

Hasan bin Thabit named his kids after the shuhadaa'.
Zayd ibn Thabit took 15 days to learn the Hebrew language. It's good for Muslims to learn languages.
The Jews were planning to kill Muhammad. Allah sent Jibril down to tell Muhammad. Muhammad got up and left.
Banu Nadhir were rich.
Iman made the Muslims' hearts strong. Their opponents were chickening out. They were struck by fear. And the Muslims didn't have good training and weapons!
A Yahudi woman was executed by Muhammad.
Al-Aws and Khazraj are the Ansar.
Muhammad was a shepherd before he was a prophet.
Islam isn't a religion for any specific skin color.

Day 24 - a few more days!

I can't say how much more days until Eid - it'll be on either Tuesday or Wednesday. So that's why I said a few more days.
Tonight I'm having iftar at someone's house, and on Saturday H has a soccer game and then we have iftar at the masjid. There's a potluck.

Arabs' lifestyle is fighting. People were scared to join Uhud because they were scared of dying.

People seem to only remember Allah when things are hard. Like if people are stranded at sea, they ask Allah to help them. Then after Allah helps them, they go back and pray to their idols.

If you see Khalid bin Sufyan you will tremble because he was so powerful. Abdullah bin 'Unays said, "I never trembled because of anyone." He carried his sword and went out. He gathered close to Makkah. He recruits his army to a camp. He was walking towards a man, when he suddenly shivered. He knew then the man was Khalid bin Sufyan. It was Asr time. Abdullah bin 'Unays wanted to pray but he knew Khalid would know he was a Muslim. Khalid asked Abdullah, "Who are you?" He said, "I know you are recruiting armies to kill Muhammad." Khalid said, "Yes, I am." Abdullah killed him. He said, "I killed him!" Muhammad said, "Yes, you did." Muhammad gave Abdullah a stick. And when he died, he got buried with it. On the day of judgement, he will lean on that stick.

You are not supposed to kill in Makkah.

Abu Sufyan said, "I've never seen the sahaba love anybody like they love Muhammad."

Khabbab was imprisoned in a woman's house. He told her to get a blade so he could cut his pubic hair. The Kafirs were coming to kill him. She gave him a blade and brought her kid. The kid crawled on to Khabbab's lap. The woman got worried because Khabbab has the blade in his hand and she thought Khabbab would kill the kid. Khabbab said, "Insha Allah I will not do that." The woman said, "He is the best of prisoners I have ever seen. I would come in his room and he is eating grapes when there are no grapes in Makkah. So I knew he got the grapes from the angels." And this woman wasn't a Muslim.

Somebody told Muhammad, "Send some men to me, Islam is spreading, I want some preachers to preach Islam." Muhammad sent 70 men called Al-Qurraa'. The readers of the Qur'an.

Someone stabbed a man. The man yelled, "Allahu Akbar, I have succeeded!" Then he died. His killer didn't understand. "What's he talking about, I killed him!" People said, "He is making shahadah." The killer became a Muslim.

Victory is from Allah. Allah gave victory to Musa when he was fightning against Fir'awn. If you ask for it, Allah will give you victory. The archers did not listen to Muhammad. Unity is important. Muhammad told the archers, "Don't turn your back to the enemies! Listen to Allah and remember Him."

Day 22

Handhalah got married to Jamilah before the battle of Uhud. Handhalah didn't take a bath. So the angels came down and washed him. People called him 'Ghaseelul Mala'ikah'. They washed him with water from Jannah in a gold basin.
It's sunnah to bury the shuhadaa' where they die.
Ubayy ibn Khalaf said, "I'm gonna kill Muhammad." Someone told Muhammad, and he said,
"No, I'm going to kill him."
Muhammad got a spear and he shook it in such a way that Ubayy ran away. Muhammad threw the spear at him, but it didn't go through because Ubayy was wearing armor and you could only see his eyes. Ubayy ran bellowing to his city. He bellowed and he yelled,
"Muhammad killed me!!" There was only blood clotting at his neck. Shortly he died. It was a miracle.
May all the Muslims in this world have love for Muhammad (SAW).

Day 21 - Yikes! Ramadan is almost over!!

Whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, He will reward him with something greater. Madinah is sacred, you can't cut the trees, you can't carry weapons, etc.
Allah is the best of planners.
Whenever Abu Dujanah is going to fight, he puts on his red headband. Struts in front of army. Allah does not like that kind of walk unless in this situation. Abu Dujanah killed someone. Those archers ran down the hill. They did not listen to Muhammad. They were gathering BOOTY. 50 archers, 40 disobeyed. This is very bad to disobey your commander. It was a day of trial and testing. Muhammad got hit by a rock. Broke his teeth and tore his lip. Fatimah was cleaning him. Someone gave her water but it made him bleed more. So Fatimah took a piece of mat and put it in the fire, and put on the wound to stop bleeding and infection. Nasty. Muhammad broke some front teeth. Kuffar thought Muhammad was dead. But Muhammad LIVES. 7 men died to protect Muhammad. Abu Sufyan asked, "Is Muhammad dead?" "No." "Is Abu Bakr alive?" They didn't say anything. "Is Umar alive?" Didn't say anything. Abu Sufyan said, "These men have been killed." He was happy. There were 70 Shaheeds on the Battle of Uhud day. Wahshi was old at that time. Hind wanted to eat the liver of Hamzah. Muhammad was very sad. He didn't want to see the face of Wahshi because it would remind him of Hamzah. Wahshi said, "I used to avoid Muhammad."

Day 20

It was raining. Muhammad took off his armor and clothes and hung them on a tree so they wouldn't get wet. Then Muhammad sat under the tree. Muhammad was sleeping under the tree. Ja'thoor came to him and said,
"O Muhammad, who can save you from me now?"
Muhammad said, "Allah."
Ja'thoor suddenly fell back, and his sword fell on the ground. Muhammad jumped on him and said,
"O Ja'thoor, who can save you from me now?"
Ja'thoor became Muslim. He gave Da'wah to other people and they became Muslim. Ja'thoor fell down because Jibreel pushed him. He said,
"A tall man came and pushed me down."
Rafi' beat someone in wrestling. Muhammad told the archers, "Don't come down this hill, whether we're winning or losing."
But, as you know, the archers didn't listen. The Muslims were winning until the archers came down. Ugh!!!

Day 19

Muslims should be careful about what they say. Ka'ab ibn Ashraf was a Jew.

A Muslim woman went to the Jewish market to sell jewelry. Someone asked, "Uncover your face." Someone pinned the bottom of her dress to her back. A Muslim man killed that Jew but then got killed by the other Jews. The sahaba were very serious about Islam.

Huh...this Ramadan is so short.... :(

A woman was leaving in a hawdaj, and Abu Sufyan was angry. Victory is from Allah. Lots of Muhammad (SAW)'s miracles happened while fighting for Allah. The wealthy sons of Quraish became Muslims.
You have to pay a price for Jannah.

Day 17

Abu Lahab died from a disease, and no one wanted to bury him. But his sons dragged him to a wall and threw rocks at him to cover him.
Some people laughed at 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud because of his skinny legs. Muhammad said, "Do you laugh at his skinny legs? They are the heaviest in Paradise."

Day 16

Mus'ab ibn 'Umayr had to hold a white flag. Muhammad saw a dream. He saw the army of Quraish to be fewer. The Quraish army is three times bigger than Muhammad's army. Allah wants the Muslims' hearts to be strong. This happened the night before the battle.
On the day of the battle it rained.
The night before the battle, Ali ibn Abi Talib said, "I thought all of us would be scared about the battle but all of us were sleeping deeply." Shows confidence of hearts. Sa'ad bin Mu'adh said he was friends with Umayyah bin Khalaf. Bilal ibn Rabah was the slave of Umayyah. Bilal said, "O Umayyah, the head of disbelievers!" Abu Talib dies as a kafir, and Abu Sufyan dies Muslim. Muhammad talked to people in their grave. Someone asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, why do you talk to dead people?" Muhammad said, "They hear me."

Muhammad went out to raid the caravans of the Quraish. Abu Sufyan crushed animal poop. Dham Dham Al-Ghifari came into Makkah, cut off his camel's nose and takes off his shirt. He yells, "Oh Quraish the caravan! Watch out or Muhammad will raid your caravan!!"

Day 14 - We've Finished Two Weeks!!!

Suhaib Ar-Roomi was imprisoned by the Romans. He was sold everywhere, from owner to owner. He soon got to someone called Abdullah bin Jad'an. Abdullah bin Jad'an freed Suhaib.
Madinah is flat, when Makkah is mountainous.
Abdullah bin Salam asked Muhammad three questions:
What is the first sign of the Day of Judgement?
What food do people eat in Jannah?
How does a kid look like his father and mother?
Abdullah bin Salam became Muslim.
How strong is our faith in Allah?
Muhammad was 54 years old when he married Aisha!!
Muhammad used to race with Aisha. She always won.
The believers fight for Allah.

Day 13

Dar-ul Arqam was a secret place in Madinah where the Muslims would pray and have meetings. But Muhammad built Masjid An-Nabawi. It was public. It was made of mud bricks. The roof was made of palm leaves and the floor was sand. It was very simple, but it was a beloved Masjid. The Masjid was the place where armies would be sent out from. It was a place of da'wah. The Christians were allowed to sit in the Masjid so they could watch the Muslims pray. They could talk with Muhammad.

If you prayed 'Isha in Masjid An-Nabawi, it would be like you prayed for 83 years.

Muhammad's followers were thinking of a way to get people to come to their Masjid to pray.

And 'Abdullah bin Zaid had a dream.

A man came to him, ringing a bell.

Abdullah said, "How much are you selling that bell for?"

The man said, "Why do you want it?"

Abdullah said, "To get people to our Masjid."

"Tell you what," said the man,"You just say 'Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, ash hadu al laa ilaaha ilallah, ash hadu anna Muhammad ar Rasulullah. Hayya alas salaah. Hayya alas salaah. Hayya alal Falaah. Hayya alal Falaah. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar. Laa ilaha ilallah.'

And to say iqamah, say 'Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, Ash hadu al la ilaha ilallah, Ash hadu an namuhammadar Rasulullah. Hayya alas Salah, Hayya alal Falah, Qad qamah tis Salah, Qad qama tis Salaah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha ilallah.' "

The next day, Abdullah told Muhammad about the dream.

He said, "Alhamdulillah. That is a true dream. Go to Bilal and teach him this because his voice is better than yours."

Soon Bilal was saying it, and 'Umar bin Khattab came running to Muhammad, saying, "Rasulullah, I had that dream!"

Muhammad said, "Alhamdulillah, that is a true dream."

If you have enough food for two people, then take a third person with you.
Fatimah was working so hard at home that her hands got injured.
Your allies are none but Allah and Muhammad and his followers.

Muhammad in Madinah, Day 12

Maghazi means battles. The earth of Allah is spacious.

People wanted to kill Muhammad. It was Abu Jahl's idea. He said, "Let's get one of the strongest men from all the tribes, give them each a sharp sword, and they all strike Muhammad. Then his family will ask for blood money, and we'll be happy to pay it."
Muhammad let Ali ibn Abi Talib sleep in his bed, and he and Abu Bakr left Makkah. Muhammad loved Makkah, and wouldn't ever leave it.

Muhammad and Abu Bakr hid in a cave. The men came to the cave, but they didn't go in because the web of a spider was there. It was a soldier of Allah. They stayed in the cave for three days.
Abu Bakr's son Abdullah would eavesdrop on the men in Makkah, and then at night he would share it with Abu Bakr and Muhammad in the cave.

Umm Aabat was this person who always provided people with food whenever they passed her tent. So Muhammad passed by her tent and asked,
"Oh Umm Aabat, do you have anything to spare?"
She said, "If I did, I would have given it to you."
Muhammad peeked in the tent and saw a weak she-goat. He asked, "What is wrong with her?"
Umm Aabat said, "She is too weak to graze with the other goats in the flock."
He said,"Does she have any milk in her?"
She said, "She is too weak for that."
"Can I milk her?"
"Go ahead."
Muhammad asked for a big container. He milked the goat and filled the container to the top. It was a miracle!

In Makkah, people usually sleep at noon because it is very hot.

Abu Jahl came to Abu Bakr's house and knocked on the door. Abu Bakr's daughter Asma opened the door. Abu Jahl asked her, "Where is your father?" She said, "I don't know where my father is." Abu Jahl slapped her face. She lied, but in this situation, it's okay to lie, for the sake of a Muslim.

Day 11

Ka'ab ibn Malik said,"We already learned how to do prayer and understand our religion.

We should do working for the sake of Jannah. Purify your intentions, and make sure we do everything just for Allah.

It's a struggle to follow Islam because you have to sacrifice everything.

Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said, "I saw in my dream I'm going from Makkah to Yathrib (Madinah). It had lots of palm trees."

Umm Salamah said, "We came back from Habasha."
Umm Salamah, Abu Salamah and Salamah were separated. Uthman bin Talhah helped Umm Salamah find Abu Salamah.

Allah will forgive all sins. No matter what you do, Allah will forgive you, if you ask for forgiveness.

Allah is All forgiving.
Turn back to Allah and submit to the truth before punishment comes.
Beware of Non-Muslims.

About Zinna
Some things a Muslim shouldn't do:

1. Accusing a Muslim man or woman of zinna is a major sin.
2. Good that came out of evil. It is bad for you, but you also learn to never do it again.
3. Muslims should think good of other Muslims.
4. We should not carry rumors.
5. It (zinna) should never happen again.
6. Don't talk about such subjects.
7. Don't lie.
8. Don't slander each other.
   
9. Accusing someone of zinna while you are doing a major sin also.

Don't let zinna happen again. (I know I wrote that a million times already.)

Day 9

Muhammad was reading Quran. Some Jinns heard and came to him. They learned from him and soon became Muslim. We can't see Jinns but they can see us. But there are some people who are allowed to see the Jinns. Creepy! Muhammad can see Jinns.

When someone converts to Islam, Allah forgives him of all his sins and he is pure like a baby.

Mus'ab ibn 'Umayr has this only piece of cloth that he wore. If he pulled it down to cover his feet, his face would show. If he covered his face, his feet would show. So Muhammad said to use the cloth to cover his face, and get some tree leaves for his feet.

Sa'ad ibn Mu'adh accepted Islam.

Day 8

Abu Talib was dying and Muhammad was with him. Muhammad said, "Oh uncle, say La ilaha ilallah. That's all I want from you." Abu Jahl was there. He said, "Are you going to die under the religion of Muhammad, or under the religion of your father?" Abu Talib's last words were, "I'm dying under the religion of my father." Muhammad said, "I'm going to keep asking Allah to forgive my uncle."
Two months later, Khadijah dies. That time was called the Year of Sorrow, because two of Muhammad's most loved people were dead.

The Buraq was a very fast animal. Muhammad mounted it, by the command of a angel. Muhammad got to the masjid of Jerusalem. He dismounted the Buraq and went into the masjid. He prayed two raka'ah. He was the imam of all the prophets.

Muhammad went up into the seven heavens and met all the prophets.
Muhammad met Allah. He talks DIRECTLY to him. Allah perscribes 50, FIFTY daily prayers. Muhammad went down to Musa and told him.
Musa said, "Your people can't handle that. Go back, tell Him to reduce it." Muhammad went back. Allah reduced the prayer to 40. Muhammad told Musa.
Musa said, "Go back and reduce it." Allah reduced it by ten. Muhammad went down.
"Go back, reduce again," said Musa. So it was reduced to 30, then 20, then 10, then 5. Muhammad went to Musa and told him.
Musa said, "Go reduce it again."
Muhammad said, "I'm ashamed to go back to Allah, I can't."

This event was called Israa' Mi'raaj.

Musa punched The Angel of Death when he asked him, "Do you want to die?" Whoah!

Imagine a prophet with no followers. On the day of Judgment, he would meet Allah alone.
Quote: A prophet with no followers would meet Allah alone on the Day of Judgment."
(I think Judgment should be spelled like J U D G E M E N T. Don't you think so?)

If you can't pray standing up, pray sitting. If you can't pray sitting, pray lying down, if you can't, with your finger. If you can't do that, pray with your eyes. But there's no way you're never going to pray.
(Pray with my eyes? How? And how do you pray with your finger? And how do you make ruku' and sujud lying down? Do you put your hands on your knees? Please tell me in the blubber box if you know. Thanks! I mean, Jazakillah Khair!)

Day 7

Abu Jahl threw a rock at Muhammad and he bled. A slave girl saw, and she told Hamzah. He was upset. Hamzah hit Abu Jahl with his bow.
Hamzah became Muslim.

'Umar bin Khattab will not become Muslim till the donkey of his father does.

One time Muhammad was praying at the Ka'bah. Umar saw him and got under the cloth of the Ka'bah (planning to attack Muhammad) and sneaked around until he was in front of Muhammad. Muhammad was reading Surah Haqqah. Umar thought, "What wonderful words! These must be the words of a poet!" And just then Muhammad recited, "These are not the words of a poet, little do you remember." (Wa maa bi qawli shaa'ir, qaleelam ma tathakka roon.) Umar was surprised and thought, "Then these must be the words of a fortune teller!" Muhammad recited, "These are not the words of a fortune teller, little do you remember." (Wa maa be qawli kaahin, qalee lam ma tathakka roon.) Umar then thought, "These are the words of Allah."

Umar became Muslim. Everyone was so happy. They were like,
"ALLAHU AKBAR!"

"We were not allowed to pray around the Ka'bah publicly till Umar became Muslim."

Abu Jahl's name wasn't really Abu Jahl. Muhammad called him that. It meant 'Father of Ignorance." The people used to call him 'Abul Hakam.' 'Father of Wisdom.'

Rukanah was the strongest man among the Quraish. He was not Muslim but he asked to wrestle with Muhammad. Muhammad said, "If I wrestle with you, will you become Muslim?" Rukanah said yes. So they wrestled and Muhammad won. Rukanah was so surprised and he became Muslim.
Amazing story huh? It's also in my book called Gems and Jewels.

I can't believe it's already the sixth day of Ramadan. Anyways, here we go.

August 6, 2011

Najashi asked, "What do you say about Isa?" "We say he is the slave of Allah."

Umm Salamah said: 'Amr bin Al-'Aas and his partner were disgraced because Najashi didn't bring gifts.

A man came to Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam and gave him a piece of gold. "This is all I have," said the man.

Abu Sufyan was the leader of Quraish, so his daughter Umm Habibah did not get persecuted.

Umm Ayman from Abyssinia said, "No peace on you." Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam told her, "Just say Salaam."

Asmaa bint 'Umays went to see Hafsah, Umar bin Al-Khataab's daughter and also Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam's wife. Umar saw her and asked Hafsah, "Who is is this? Is it the woman from Abyssinia?" Hafsah said, "Yes." Umar told Asmaa,"We made hijrah before you, so you aren't as close to Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam as we are." Asmaa got angry and told Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam what Umar said. Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam said, "Umar gets the reward of one hijrah, and you get reward of two."

When Abu Bakr read Quran, he would cry. He would pray outside in front of all the people of Quraish, and the leaders of Quraish were angry. So Abu Bakr left the land because he wanted a place to worship Allah.

Notes: Day 5

Bedouins would raid caravans, kill, do anything.

Abu Dharr heard of Muhammad and asked his brother what the people said about him. His brother said, "They say he is a sorcerer." Abu Dharr said, "I don't believe you. I will investigate the matter myself."

Abu Dharr became Muslim. "Ash hadu al laa ilaha illallah." The people gathered around him and beat him so bad he died. (Don't worry, he didn't really die!)
Everywhere people were becoming Muslim.

Whoever searches for guidance, Allah will give it to them. Islam teaches good. Worship Allah alone.
Uthman bin Affan and his wife Fatimah were the first ones to make hijrah after Prophet Lut.

Umm Salamah said there's this speech Ja'far ibn Abi Tailb said in front of King An-Najashi.
An-Najashi wanted to become Muslim.
Ja'far recited Surah Maryam to An-Najashi. All his bishops cried so much they wet their bibles.

Notes for Ramadan Day 4

Abu Talib called for Muhammad SAW. Muhammad saw came.
Abu Talib said, "The people are complaining about your preaching of Islam, so can you stop?" Muhammad said, "Oh my uncle, do you see the sun?"
Abu Talib said, "Yes."
Muhammad SAW said, "It is impossible for me to stop this. This is my mission. I can't give it up."

Even though Muhammad SAW was spreading Islam, he didn't get persecuted. Allah protected him.
Because people were becoming Muslim, there was torture.
People would try to kill Muhammad SAW but Allah protected him. The people would clothe some people in hot iron and put them in the hot sun. Uthman bin Affan was wrapped in a carpet and people jumped on him. People would burn rocks, put them on the ground, and put Khabbab ibn Al-Araat on top of it.
Allah says,"They attempt to kill you and drive you out of the land."
Khabbab ibn Al-Araat said to Muhammad SAW, "Ask Allah to give us victory."
Muhammad told him, "Be patient, you have to go through what the people before you went through."
Muhammad wanted his ummah to be the best!

Ramadan Day 3, August 3

Gain knowledge,
Teach knowledge.

Muhammad (SAW) makes dhikr in the morning. It's his breakfast.

3 lessons: Surah 'Alaq, Muzammil, and Mudaththir.

When Muhammad (SAW) tried to preach Islam, the Quraish mocked him because he wasn't wealthy.

Muhammad tried to preach in Taif, and the people said, "Allah sent YOU?!"

Abu Jahl saw Muhammad (SAW) making sujud on the ground. He went to the leaders of Quraish and said, "Are you letting Muhammad rub his face in the dirt?* If you are, I will trample his neck and and rub his face in the dirt."

Some people threw dirt on Muhammad (SAW) while he was making sujud. Fatimah (his daughter) saw and cleaned the dirt off.

In the markets, people would have poetry contests and hang up the poetry. Muhammad (SAW) would look at them and say, "Oh my people, say [shahadah]!"

Muhammad (SAW) makes da'wah, but people just ignore him. But he still makes da'wah.

Some people called Muhammad (SAW) a magician, soothsayer, poet, sorcerer, and who knows what. They talked among themselves and would say things like, "No, he doesn't act like a sorcerer." "No, Qur'an is not poetry."

At the Ka'bah, there were some Quraish. They said, "Send for Muhammad (SAW)!" Muhammad came eagerly. He thought his people might change. The Quraish asked Muhammad (SAW) to ask Allah for wealth.

Makkah is very narrow.

Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam came with a law, Quran.
Nobody on earth is praised more than Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam.
There is nothing in the Quran that has been disproved and that is not going to to happen.

August 2, 2011

'Iqra' means 'read'.
Waraqah has scrolls from the bible that he studies.
He said to Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam: I wish I was young to see your people drive you out of your land.
Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam didn't like anything that had to do with Shaytaan, sorcery, or anything like that.
Reading is the key to knowledge.

Why Kids Like to Read

Kids like to read because they see their parents read all the time. The kids copy their parents.
Kids grow up in houses filled with books.
Kids have their own library.
They don't watch TV, one of the most worst distractions (I don't have a TV).

Whenever Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam had a dream, it would happen the next day. This happened for six months.

Don't tell anybody about a bad dream that you had. Bad dreams come from Shaytaan. Don't tell anyone a bad dream because Shaytaan wants to make you feel bad, complaining about your dream to someone else.

Jibreel (Alayhis Salam)'s wings were so big they covered the horizon.

I had my haircut today. My mom cut it. Now my ponytail is choppy and I have to wear a hairband all the time. And I tell you, I do NOT like wearing hairbands, I like ponytails more. But at least my hair is more thick and curved.

The kittens and the puppies both got adopted!!! And the animal shelter is closing up! And the animals are moving to a place called Safe Haven!!! And so I am quite sad here. There are two poodle puppies there, though. And they are FLAT!!! (My way of saying VERY VERY CUTE!!!)
