Toes These Days.

I just came back from my foot appointment and they said it was healed. They were like, wow, that was fast! And we just surgeried you last week!!

Carrot Top.

Today I pulled out a small carrot from the 'garden'. H screamed and said I pulled it too early. Ummi said to cut off the top of the carrot and put it in water. And give the rest to Z. How sad was I to know that he gobbled up that carrot and didn't even say it was good. Just kidding.

Blah.

Foot appt today at 3:30. How sad. BOOHOO!

YOU Choose.

What post do you want me to make next? Ambord.

Now It's BOTH OF THEM!!!

I had my appointment today for my toes. I recently found out I had an infection on my right and left big toes. So today, when it was my turn to go in, I told the nurse I had infections again and she was like, "Really? Seriously? Dang it!" Then she said, "You know what this means, right?" And I said, "Yeah."

It meant SURGERY again.

I braced myself. JK. I hate it when they give me the shots.

Blood spurted everywhere, and the doctor laughed evilly, snapping the scissors together threateningly.

...

Not really. The truth is, I saw BLOOD. Dark red, coming from my toe. Then, they took the scraping tool and scraped all that nasty stuff from my toe. Then they put cream on and everything, and stuck wooden sticks with fluff at the end, in the corners of my toe. Then they cleaned my toe and I was good. My tummy still hurt though from the shot.

I got down from the chair and put on my shoes. I felt a little wobbly.

Z in the other room got straps, and it appears to be that his feet are worse than mine. Yehoo! JK.

New Things

You would think I haven't been putting up new posts because nothing interesting happened to me lately. Well, you're wrong. I have millions of news and posts to make and they mostly include baking, and I am taking years to put the pictures up because they are on this one computer and I rarely get to it, plus the pictures take YEARS to upload. Anyways. To the real news:
_________________________________________________________
My sister cut my hair on Wednesday in the sunroom. I was like sweating real badly during the whole process, and I had to sit still, which I am not good at (and I thought I was). So S turned on the fan, so that was good. Then H came in and turned up the speed of the fan. Thanks so much H. Anyway, S followed this tutorial on how to give someone a layered cut. It was about this annoying Chinese (I think) guy giving a layered cut to this woman, and the background song was all sickly and the man talked too much.
And today S cut my mom's hair and fixed mine.
_________________________________________________________
Ummi has banned me & H from saying BLEEP and BEEP and BLEEPING and BEEPING.
_________________________________________________________
Today S and I made Biskut Bijan and Dixie Pixies. If you dummies don't know what those are, use Google. And yesterday H made these weird brownies with chocolate icing. Yum!

I have a post in process 1/4 done.

I can't wait for Eid!

Pizza!

On...Monday was it? Yes, it was Monday. H had wanted to make pizza, so we did. S and H did the dough (w/o me) and let it rise. After an hour I think, H took the dough out and then we all started putting the sauce on and the cheese. H was rushing 'cause he had to go to the masjid, so his pizza was extra-hideous.

The dough - doesn't it look prim?

H kneading it.

H's horrible pizza, pre-baked. S wanted to put too much cheese.

This is a short clip of H kneading the dough.

The more beautiful pizza made by me and S.

Classico Traditional Pizza Sauce.

Me holding the cheese over the sauced pizza.

Cheese sprinkling time.

Almost fully cheesed.

The finished product - beautifully cheesed by me.

H's pizza again.

Our pizza baking in the oven - we added a finishing topping of tomatoes.

The finished pizza.

And H made more pizza today. He got filmed by S. His show is called Hammy's Kitchen. His pizzas were the most horrible things ever! And he and S greedily dibbed on the best cheese sticks!

Judging

Today we went to the masjid for S' judging.

First we went to the post office to send a package to Grandmy, and then we went to the library to pay a fine for Z's tupA' book, and then we went to the masjid. I was sweaty.

So first we prayed Asr, and then we went to the classroom. S went first, with Surah Al-Mulk. She got a few mistakes and hesitated in some places. But mom, she was worse. She hesitated too much, and needed to be corrected in some places. She was doing Surah Maryam.

When she was done we left immediately. At home we listened to a lecture by Omar Suleiman about Laylatul Qadr and took turns playing with playdough and taking notes.

Potluck, Fish, and Cake

I have three posts to make today. One for Saturday and two for Sunday.

(PS: The title obviously says Potluck, Fish, and Cake. The words 'fish' and 'cake' just don't sound right together. It sounds nasty.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

~The Potluck~

On Saturday, there was community iftar, as always, and that was the night I THOUGHT they were gonna announce the winners. After Maghrib I thought they would announce it, but no. So we ate our iftar and all, and it was really good! There was serving this time because usually when people take their food by themselves it's so slow. And there were less people this time because the Pakistanis had a party. So yay! The quietness. I didn't know there were so much Pakis.

S told Sandy that we brought a smoothie (made by me of course) and then Sandy was like, "Dude. Where's the smoothie?" So I showed her where it was, and she asked me what was inside it, and I said, "Blueberries, yogurt, soymilk, and lemon." So she drank it, and she was like, "Wow, N! This is so good! The lemon makes it so good!" Then she blubbered about how she used to hate lemon and all. And then, GUESS WHAT?! Mom showed me off to some of her friends named Myr, Joycie, and Umm Yaz. She told me to get the smoothie and some cups. And so I did, and then they were like, "You should make a smoothie shop called 'N Made It.'" And I'm like, ":D." Then Joycie looked at me and said, "I love your scarf. It really brings out the creaminess in your skin. You know, the lilac color." I was wearing a light purple tudong. Everyone went like 'Awww'! Well, mom and Myr and Umm Yaz did, but S and Sandy went like "Mph!" and "Hahaha!" Then mom said, "You're embarrassing her!" But Joycie said, "No, really! I wish my skin was like that." Then it was dessert time. It was oreo cake, I think. Then it was Isha time.

Sandy asked when they were gonna announce the winnahs, and I said, "I don't know, maybe after Isha?" And when they didn't, I thought, 'maybe after tarawih, then?' But no. Then I thought, 'Fine, maybe after witr.' And no.

So I asked mom why they didn't announce it, and she said, "I think it's 'cause they're waiting for the women."

Apparently the women's judging was on Tuesday, so bleep.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~The Fish~

On Sunday we went shopping. Abi said we had to go shopping before the last ten days of Ramadan. Before we went we were like 'should we go or not' and then I asked mom and she said, 'Haa, boley lah!" So we went.

First we went to Petco while dad went somewhere else, I forgot.

S and I immediately went to the betta fish place. I went to where the rainbow rocks were, but they weren't where I saw them last. So I just went to the betta bowl decoration aisle. S said she wanted to buy a skull, but mom was like, 'ish, jangan lah!' S had olso said she liked my plant, so I got to choose a plant for myself. I was just about to get one when S changed her mind like Z.

"Actually, I'm going to buy my own plant."

BLEEP.

She took a very long time choosing. Then she changed her mind again! BLEEP x 2.

So I took a nice red silk plant, and a blue bridge. Then after I walked out of the aisle I noticed the rainbow rocks. I took the last pack of red, pink, and purple rocks.

S, apparently, got a castle for her fish to swim through. Then she got the water purifier. Then we joined mom and H & Z in looking at the other pets. We looked at the mice, the birds, the chinchillas, and the kittens. The kittens were so bleeping cute and so were the chinchillas. And of course mom thought the dumb old guinea pigs were cute. *BARF*

When we were done browsing we went to go pay. The cashier man was very odd. He was jolly.

"Hello! What've we got here today?"

"Hmm, I'm gonna wrap this up in a bag so it doesn't break." (Wraps up the bridge in a plastic bag)

"Would you like to donate a can of food to help the cats?" (Picks up a can of cat food and swings it around)

"Thank you, do you have a Petco card?"

"Thank you, have a good day. Hello sir, what do you..."

LOL.

So after that was done with, we went to the hated Ross, and then the disliked Marshalls, and the hilarious smelly Big 5. H needed cleats for his soccer. In a certain place mom found fresh shields for H. S was laffing like cra-Z about them. So much so she was even laffing after we left the store.

At home before Zohor, S got my bowl cleaned and decored. First she took the fish out, then the water, then put the gravel on a tissue to dry. Then she put in the decor and poured some smelly apple cider vinegar on it. Then she put in the water, and then the purifier. Then my fish's bowl was done. It was Fish Kid's turn. Fish Kid aka Iceblaze aka Sharkbait.

Sunset on the bridge.

S did hers and then when it was done we went to go pray. I made waz and when I lifted up my right leg to wash my foot, my best knee banged into the sink counter. I noticed later on in the shower that I got a bad bruise.

IceBlaze and his castle.

Sunset's bowl is beautiful now. ↓

H claims he told me to buy the bridge. Well, he didn't. I chose it for myself and that's that. I'm the one with good taste here.

Staring in rage at each other.

Here's a little video I took of Sunset biting my finger. I always make him bite my finger before I give him food. It's a little trick S invented.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

~The Cake~

That same day, H wanted to make sponge cake with fruit and cream. He got into a little argument with mom about folding. :D

So after dad came home from Shahit's store with the berries, H started the cake.

"Who wants to help me?" he said.
"Me," said me.
"M'kay."

So while he got everything out, I went to go look at Sunset. Suddenly H came in my room and said, "C'mon, Nar, let's go make the cake!"
I followed him to the kitchen in most grudge. He started making the cake.
Sifting the flour.

S holding eggs over flour.

(fast forward - I don't want to tell all about how we made the cake - I forgot anyway)

...I remember using the hand beater to make the cream. It required patience and it hurt my hands real bad. Then I remember H pouring the strawberries in a bowl and putting them in the fridge because he left them out too long and they melted.

Then the cake was ready, and it was too short (thanks to H's geniusness), so S made another one. Then it was frosting time. H decored the first layer with cream and the strawberries. Then he put the other cake layer on top and started frosting the whole cake. It was very messy. Then he decorated the top and the base with the remaining strawberries. It looked wunnerful. Then he poured the remaining strawberry sauce over the cake.

The end result.

Then when it reached Asr time, we woke up mom and prayed asr, an then we went downstairs and H said to show mom the cake so I showed her the pictures I took of it. She said to give it to the bleeping neighbors!! >:O I was like, shouldn't've showed her the pictures!

So H was sent out with a plate of cake to give to the neighbors. But they weren't home, so yay! XD

When it was time to break, H and I ate the cake pieces that were meant for the bleeping neighbors.

Well, those are all the stories for today.

Jitters

I feel so jittery! Maghrib is in like about 7 hours, and today there is community iftar at the masjid! And I feel so jittery because I can't wait to see who won the Quran competition!!! They will announce the winners today! OMG. The jitteriness is making my tummy hurt even more because of hunger pains, plus I had a chest pain.

S is helping me train Sunset to bite my finger before I give him food. And I just dumbly noticed that he has ugly nostrils that make him look totally different from what he looked like before.

My tummy is growling. I gotta go mund*, it's already Zohor. See ya.

The Competition

It wasn't how I expected it to be.
It was cacat.

Well, first of course, we went to the masjid. On the way, we picked up Abi and he sat in the backseat with me and Z. Then we got to the masjid. Abi took some time to get out of the van from the backseat.

Ummi, S, Z and I went into the women's side and sat down in the musalla. In a few minutes people came, and after the khutbah we prayed, obv, and then people started getting ready for the judging. It was in the cole ole classroom. Me and Sandy were participating. My other friend R was not in because she decided to let others have a chance. o_o

So first, a girl went, and then another girl went, and then it was Sandy's turn. Apparently after some tussling, it seemed to me she was nervous. So like, she went, and then it was my turn. I read the surah while sweating quite badly. Then I was done and went to mom and S and Joycie who were all grinning.

"You did good!" they said.
"Not my best," I said.

After that it was the little kids' turn. Hl went and read Surah Ikhlas, and then another kid named Dani read Surah Lahab and Nas. They were quite good, actually. After that, me, Sandy, and R went outside. S came out later with Z. S and Sandy talked together under the tree and me and R went on the swings. Then it was time to leave. We had some trouble thinking if we should leave H there or not, because he was being judged after Asr...so S called Abi and Abi said to just leave H there. After a bit mroe confusion we did leave him there. Then we came home.

And now my tummy is churning and growling. And my arm is still fuzzy.

N

Filmin'

Today H and me were taking vids with the camera. H put the camera in the most unthinkable places, like the bathroom drawer, the microwave, and the washer. He fake cooked it on the stove. He even faked putting it in his fish bowl. And then he threw the camera in his laundry basket and threw clothes on top of it. Then he went on the roof. While he was up there I went to go bathe. I heard him yelling, "N!" while I was in the tub. XP
Then we made another movie & we both went on top of the roof. We walked up there for a while and watched cars pass by. Well, at least the camera did. Then mom told us to get down. I had trouble getting down, and right now my arms are fuzzy. They sting real bad right now. Well not real bad, they just stung when I put lotion on them. Anyways, my fingers got all hot and burnt and I tell you, it is scary coming down from the roof.
Right now H is singing a Zakariyya song while attempting to nap. It is 11:15 AM.

N

11:00 AM

We have to get ready to go to Jooma in like mebbe 1 hour. The Quran competition judging is after Jooma prayer. I practiced my Naba this morning and I got no mistakes, so I should be good.

Don't getcher hopes up....

It is now 11:02. This post took approximately 2 mins to type. Time flies by.

My Smoothie

Apparently mom took pictures of my best pink smoothie, sooo...
This is the ONLY picture though, so stop crying. Oh and also, I made another pink smoothie last night, and I was planning to add my secret ingredient but I didn't want mom to see it. The secret ingredient was chocolate ice cream, because raspberries go great with chocolate. In my opinion, of course.

Oh & BTW, Joycie called this morning @ like 6am and told us to look @ the rainbow outside. So we did, and mom took pictures of the rainbow & told us to get Z because he 'likes' rainbows. So S had to go in the house & wake Z up. Z was apparently still sleepy & smelly. Mom was like, "Look, Z! Rainbow! Rainbow! *fake gasp* Haaa, rainbow, Z!" Then S said we could look at it better in the front yard, so we went.

This is it in the backyard. There was a light rain coming down for some reason.

Joycie said there were double rainbows, so we tried to find it. Then mom finally found it. It was faint. Mom said Z likes rainbows but then S said now he's gonna hate them forever. LOL.

This is it in the front yard, and if you look closely you can see the double rainbow.

Then after Ummi was done looking at the rainbows she took like a hundred pictures of the plants. Literally.

My tomato plant now has 19 small green tomatoes growing on it. I broke off all the yellow leaves.
My BEST t'mato plant.

BREAKING NEWS: The Hawk Moth

From Reporter John Smith: The Death Head...Literally...
N is sad to admit that the tomato hornworm moth she has been keeping, is officially dead. We have interviewed N and this is what she says:

I have some really bad news.

Our BEST tomato hornworm/hawk moth has died. *SOB*

S said maybe it died because Ummi didn't take us out to let it go immediately, and so it got crammed up in the jar because it couldn't fly. So today, Ummi's friend Joycie came for Abata. They did Abata and talked for like about 2 hours.

When Joycie had to leave, Ummi asked S and I if we wanted to come with her to let the moth go. Before that, we were checking out the moth in the sunroom. S kept dropping sugar water on it with a cotton ball, due to her research, but nothing happened.

Earlier in the morning, like after Fajr, it had moved a little. Its antenna moved a bit and S said its tocks* moved too, a bit. She said it was moving less every day. We had to tell mom; the moth was officially dead.

So when she and Joycie were getting ready to go, we brought the jar to her and announced that it was dead. Ummi was like *GASP* and Joycie looked at it and said 'aww!'.

So me and S got ready to go. H was still sleeping (it was like 1pm @ the time, & S said he's been sleeping since 8 or 9am.) and so we left him home alone sleeping. Then we left. On the way, S asked mom why all the animals we raise always die. Mom laughed.

We dropped Joycie off at Sry's house, and then we went to go find a place to put the moth.

We stopped @ this place. S and I got out of the van and went to a place where there were patches of grass unlike the man who keeps his lawn clean. S took the plastic wrap off the Lychee jar. I reached in and tried to hold the moth but it was kinda round. I finally got hold of it and put it in the grass. It was upside down. I tried making it right side up, but it stayed up side down. We left it there in the grass and S dumped all the dirt, flowers & junk out. I saw the cocoon and told S to keep it. She scooped it up & then we ran back to the van. & guess what? Mom still had the nerve to call it ugly! >:O My fingers were gray and dusty from touching the moth. S said it was the scales.

We drove home and tried scaring H by banging on the door like strangers usually do 'cause they don't know there is a doorbell. But he still wasn't awake yet. So mom finally unlocked the door and we got in and got ready to pray Zohor. When we were finished mom called H to pray by himself. He didn't know that we left him home alone, apparently.

Mom called us murderers.

And so that is the story. Here are pictures of the moth.

Sadly, it is dead now.

That is all N says from her experience with the hawk moth's death. Thank you for reading, and until then, please stay tuned!

The Tomato Moth

I have some cool news. This morning at suhoor, S told me that the caterpillar had finally hatched!! I went into the sunroom to go see it but I was too lazy. My glasses weren't on and also, I needed to pee badly. So after suhoor, I looked at it. It scared me some at first. But you know what? Despite the caterpillar's huge size, the moth was very small. Probably comes from being in the dirt for so long. It probably shriveled up or something. So anyways, mom was kinda hooked in making new posts on DOOL2, and that means taking pictures of things. *GROAN* So of course that meant taking pictures of the moth. So S did, but they were horrible so I took some better ones. The moth is dark drown, black and white, and its eyes are huge. Pictures will be shown later.

N

Unwrapped in a Smoothie Dilemma

Yesterday while we were waiting for Maghrib, me and Z watched Sweet Secrets Unwrapped with Marc Summers. We took turns listening to it with the headphones because the loudspeakers don't work. Then S came along. *SCREAM* We watched all the sweet secrets and then S wanted to watch Paula Deen. Paula doesn't have a deen.
H cut chunks of cheese for us to break our fast with. Mom had told me to make smoothies, and that's when the dilemma began.

~The Smoothie Dilemma~

Ummi told me to make smoothies so I did. I got raspberries and strawberries from the chest freezer in the garage. I got the blender out and everything. Ummi said I had to make Z's first. So then I piled the berries in the blender and then started pouring in the soy milk. But, the getah couldn't be found, so the milk spilt everywhere. *SCREAM*

***A few minutes later after calling Ummi from her exercising***

"Ayyayyaaa..." says mom.
"The rubber thing is gone." I say.
"Alamak..." says mom.
"Abi likes to take all the parts away," continues mom.
"Well..." says me.
(Mom opens a drawer and finds a different kind of blender, a hand blender.)

"Haa, use this," says mom. "It's a hand blender."

(I silently sigh with relief and pour the berry+soymilk mess into the cup, and then mom hand-blends it up. It turns into a nice pink glob of gluten free smoothie.)
"Haa, get a cup lah!" says mom.

(About to get a cup until - )

"Eh, actually I thought you were going to add his yogurt?" says mom.
"Emm..no," I say.
"Eh, letak lah!" she insists.
"M'kay."
(I open the fridge and get out his nasty soy yogurt. I take a spoon and spoon it in. Then mom blends it some more, and now it is finally done.)

"Haa, pour it into a cup and give it to Z," says mom.

(I pour it into a tall green cup and place @ Z's place @ the dining table.)

"Haa, Z! Your smoothie! Go get a straw!" says mom.

(Z goes 'n' gets a straw, and I start making our smoothie.)

(I pour more berries in the cup and blend it. I add our yogurt. Then it is done. Another pink glob. It's really globby and doesn't slide a bit when I attempt to pour it in a cup. So I take a spoon and spoon it in. Then I try to slurp it up, but the globbiness makes an effect on me trying to drink it. It is not very sweet, but good enough.)

(H drinks the smoothie and I think he sorta kinda likes it but he insists on adding sugar next time.)

That is the end of the smoothie dilemma story. I am going to try and make another smoothie today, this time with a little sugar. Oh, and I forgot the flaxseed.

N
